An icon family is the set of icons in different sizes available for an item. To view all of the sizes available for an item, click the small triangle to the right of the item's icon in the Info window, and choose View Icon Family. In the window that opens, you can hold the cursor over any icon to view a help tag with information about it. Press the Command key while doing so to view more information about the icon.
